“Thanks for doing a brilliant job on my make up for my wedding. Not only was the make-up perfect, you were so warm and friendly and made me feel completely at ease and perfectly relaxed on the morning of my wedding. It was very natural looking, just what I wanted, and an amazing start to a fantastic day. I would highly recommend you to anyone wanting to look and feel gorgeous.”

What products do you use?

My kit contains a mix of high quality products (mainly MAC) but also including Benefit, Urban Decay and Makeup Forever (professional make-up product used by the stars). As I'm freelance and not associated with any cosmetic companies, you can be sure that the products I use are hand-picked from my extensive experience on what works best.

Can I use my own make up?

Of course, I'll use whatever you're comfortable using (especially if you have particularly sensitive skin or an allergy). Just please be aware that it may not last as long or show up as much in any photographs as my professional make-up.

Is it alright to get a spray tan/use fake tan before makeup?

Yes, you can use fake tan for your wedding or special occasion. Ideally you'll have the same tan applied before the trial too so that you can see what the whole look will look like, exactly as it'll be on your special day, but I'll colour-match your foundation on the day to your skin anyway so it's no problem at all if you don't.

If I need to cancel my booking, what happens?

Your deposit is to save your wedding or special occasion date, which ensures I don't  book anyone else in on that day, keeping it just for you, therefore is non-refundable. If one of your wedding party cancels, their deposit will be lost. If the bride cancels but still requires the rest of the wedding party make-up, the charge will become special occasion make-up.

Should I bring a picture of the kind of look I'd like?

If you have a particular look in mind, then it's a good idea to look at and collate pictures and photographs and email them to me or show me at your trial as this helps build an accurate picture of the look you wish to achieve on your big day. Swatches or photos of the bridesmaid’s dresses are also useful so I can see the colour, but not essential.

How do I pay?

I accept cash, cheques. or bank transfers. Cheques are accepted at trials but if you'd like to pay your final invoice by cheque, then this should be sent two weeks before your event date, in time to clear. Final balance is paid by bank transfer, one to two weeks before the wedding date. For more details, please see the Bridal Make-Up page or the Special Occcasions make-up page.

Will my make-up last all day?

Yes. The make-up I use in my kit, I have selected not only for its photographic properties, but also its high quality and durability. I'll apply your make-up using special techniques to ensure it will last as long as possible and look fresh for the whole day and into the night too. I will let you know what lipstick/gloss I use at your trial, so you may buy one exactly the same (or I can supply a mini lip pot), as you may want to re-apply it later on your wedding day.

Do you offer Airbrush/Airbase Make-up (spray-on make-up)?

No, I don't offer this because I'm personally not a fan of it, as it's not natural looking enough in person (although it's fine in photos). I used a silicon based, high definition make-up (as does Airbrushing), so it lasts brilliantly and looks great on camera, but it also looks fantastic face-to-face and feels light.

I have short eyelashes - would you recommend false eyelashes?

Absolutely, I recommend lashes for most ladies (even if you have long lashes) - they really open and define the eyes. There are two types of false eyelashes: a full strip of eyelashes (all types of thickness & length for natural to glam). Most natural (and a 'must' for mums of the bride/groom) are individual eyelashes - which give the most natural look and can be applied towards the outer part of your eye, to really open them up - we can talk about the options and try them out at your trial.

Why use a make-up artist for my wedding?

Read my published article for the answer.

Do you offer make-up lessons?

Yes, either one-to-one lessons or group lessons. Take a look at my Make-up Lessons page for information and prices.

Do you do gift vouchers?

Yes, they make a fabulous present - you can get them for make-up lessons or a make-over - see the Gift Vouchers page. I can email it over so you can give to your loved one, incase you've left it a bit late.

"Thank you so much for making me look so beautiful on my wedding day. I had so many comments on how natural I looked - still like me but on a really really good day! You were calm and friendy even when you had numerous litte bridesmaids watching your every move. The make-up lasted all day and night - I didn't go to bed until 1.30am and danced so much my feet hurt the next day! I will certainly be recommending you to anyone that wants a special treat not just on your wedding day!"
